Adventures with Solids: Avocados

Hold on a second...

Gross what was that? That's not banana.

Maybe I can see what's in the bowl.

Couldn't see but this is definitely not banana.

Let me just take this out.

Good idea, catch it with the spoon Mom.

Dad, put down the camera and save me!

Inaugural Trip to Shipley Donuts

A couple days ago we headed to Shipley Donuts to pig out in our pajamas. One day Declan will love this place like his mom and Grandma.

Half Birthday

On his half birthday Mr. 6 Months cheered from the sidelines while we played tennis in the morning. Then we headed to the swings to cheer on Declan.

Next up was Declan's first taste of solid food. Yum - Bananas.

We spoiled our little baby all day and kept reminding him that it was his half birthday. Can't believe he's already been part of our family for 6 months. Life is much more whole with him around.

Patient Husbands

Most of my repentance occurs in the shower.

The truth is there's been a lot of murmuring around here. A little... let's call it Lehi's wife syndrome. However this morning the eternal perspective was once again brought to my mind. (Oh and I decided I needed to paint my fingernails. They have been bare far too long and a little polish changes everything.)

Thank goodness for patient husbands that keep their families on the right path.
Possibly a Pillar of Salt moment?

What we've been up to:

Strolls around the first floor to induce afternoon naps

Lots of standing in little boy shorts and t-shirts

Happy Easter

While car shopping we ran into the Easter bunny. Declan was underwhelmed but the new parents still made him take a picture.

Newest Tricks - Standing and Reaching

Declan continues to amaze us. We of course think he is a genius for doing things that most humans do on a daily basis.

1) Standing on his own two feet.

He used to just hold up his feet when held in the air but now he will stand!

First time he did it at the car dealership. Poor salesman was trying to close a sale and I, the giddy mom, just kept saying, "Look Look! Danny he's standing!"

Showing off his new trick later on Friday night.

More practice with Dad.

2) Reaching.

He reaches for you to hold him, reaches for toys and tonight he wanted to pet Alex.
